[SOLVED] Lenovo ideapad - touchpad does not work

Post by ordosdeviator » Sun Sep 10, 2017 5:12 am

Laptop Lenovo ideapad 320-15ISK, manufactured in 2017.
BIOS updated, settings changed to "legacy".
1st OS is Win10 x64 - touchpad works properly and is seen in device manager as "ELAN pointing device".
Also I have a wireless mouse A4Tech.

2nd OS is Mint 18.2 Cinnamon 64bit - touchpad does not work at all.
Wireleless mouse works OK.
Level 1, 2 updates installed.
xinput output:

Code: Select all

nuser@ncomp ~ $ xinput
⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2	[master pointer (3)]

I updated kernel 4.8 -> 4.10 via Update Manager.
Touchpad gives no response.

He-he. Solved.
Updated kernel to 4.13.1 following instructions here
https://fossbytes.com/install-upgrade-l ... mint-ukuu/
After restart xinput showed "Elan Touchpad".
Lenovo hotkey Fn+F6 doesn't work, so I googled how to assign a hotkey manyally.
That's all, folks.
