18.2 xfce install screen locked

Post by kizzelwhix » Mon Oct 30, 2017 10:39 pm

screen locked midway through installing xfce on an old laptop, need login credentials to unlock screen - haven't had this problem yet!

installing over old 17.3 mate, tried the old login credentials, tried the new credentials I established during setup, neither work! I did format and clean install but figured I'd try anyway...

I don't want to attempt reboot during the install and probably have to start over, do i?

The login is mint, and for the password, just hit Enter.

That would be nice to know ahead of time. Ran into the same issue in 18.3
Afraid to walk away because I'd get locked out
