Hyperthreading is disabled - sees just one core

Post by Jacek13 » Mon Nov 20, 2017 3:58 pm

. This is my first time with debian-based system, and for some reason it doesn't see 2nd thread of the CPU on Nokia Booklet 3G with Intel Atom Z530. I have a 3.16.39-1 kernel. Is it because I don't have Intel microcode installed? It wasn't necesary on ,,normal" LM.

Code: Select all

Architecture: i686
CPU op-mode(s): 32-bit
Byte Order: Little Endian
CPU(s): 1
On-line CPU(s) list: 0
Thread(s) per core: 1
Core(s) per socket: 1
Socket(s): 1
Vendor ID: GenuineIntel
CPU family: 6
Model: 28
Model name: Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU Z530 @ 1.60GHz
Stepping: 2
CPU MHz: 1600.000
CPU max MHz: 1600,0000
CPU min MHz: 800,0000
BogoMIPS: 3191.83
Virtualization: VT-x
L1d cache: 24K
L1i cache: 32K
L2 cache: 512K
Edit: Can it still be the case that 32bit kernel doesn't support SMT?!

"simply install the 686-PAE kernel and reboot your computer"
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named "manual".
