I pretty much have the same issue as this guy has:

he resolves by using NTFS. But has anyone resolved by using CIFS?

read speed form NAS 100MB... write speed 8MB, what gives?

found a workaround.... I was transferring an iso file to my wd mycloud using cifs.... if i transfer the file on its on (just the iso file) speed was 8mb

if I transfer the file when its inside a folder its writes x10 as quick
