we need to know something about your machine:
type this into Terminal:

Code: Select all

I wonder if that is streaming or local?

Reason: Adding [code] tags. They retain some formatting that makes your output easier to read.

Please don't do duplicate threads. It's wasting everyone's time and makes me so very much less inclined to help you. But since I had already written this for your other thread, here you go:
And?

There would be options on a device with hardware that needs proprietary drivers. Your device doesn't.

PS: You'll need to be more specific about the video lag. What software is used to play the video, for example. You can already do:

Code: Select all

apt install i965-va-driver
apt install libvdpau-va-gl1
though. Then run

Code: Select all

xed admin:///etc/X11/Xsession.d/20vdpau-va-gl
and remove the # in front of the last two lines, save and exit.
Finally reboot.
Since you already answered my question from your other thread in this one, that above is your solution. It will give you hardware accelerated video in VLC (only the first command is enough for VLC actually, but do the rest, too, it helps with other software).

First, and most important, Mint 19 is beta and hence NOT SUPPORTED. Post issues to the release notes page (I think, I avoid betas like the plague).

Second, you have Intel graphics and as such you aren't going to see any video drivers for it listed in Driver Manager because Intel does not make closed binary drivers. Thew only Intel thing you'll see in driver manager is intel-microcode, which isn't even a driver let alone a video driver. It's a CPU firmware update that goes there because all proprietary such code does.

Yup, I missed that, but I'm not in any rush for 19 myself.

You're still not going to find any Intel video drivers in Driver Manager.

No reason to rush, no, you are right.
My 18.3 is still working perfectly, but I wanted try LM 19 as well, so I dedicated a partition to it and I don't regret. Even the Beta worked great for me.
