Vis-à-vis Deepin, I am wary of anything coming out of certain sources, and China is one of them. I don't factually know there's bad things going on within that distro, but frankly I wouldn't be willing to take the chance.
I think Mac OS X 10.6 was the last one with an appealing (to me, at least) UI. I do not like any of the flat UIs out there, be they Mac OS X, iOS, Android, Windows, or any of the several GNU+Linux desktop environments' takes on the concept. As with this topic's OP, I think the default Cinnamon "Mint Y" icons are utilitarian at best and fugly at worst, which is why I change to the Mint X Aqua ones the moment I do an install of LM.

Mint 19.2 seems to be taking positive steps to making Linux look better. Next step Libre Office making their product look better.

Neptune 6 is stunning. I'm now running this as my back-up. A KDE distro based on Debian 10 with more up-to-date apps, kernels and drivers - what's not to like?rick gen wrote: ⤴Sat Aug 31, 2019 12:27 pmNeptune (6) 's graphics look well thought out.
