Anyone experiencing unstable behavior running mintinstall? It keeps crashing with the following error in syslog.

Get the memory tested from grub memtest options. Run for 2 hrs at least. Also the disk
If your machine is 32 bits, 64 bit iso will give error.

I am using Mint 19.1 Cinnamon 64 bit with AMD A8/7410 processor . Memory 8GB

also - do check that the ISO that you downloaded has the correct checksum:
as, if that is incorrect, then you can get all sorts of weird errors.

Good advice above. Before you do that, in particular if it crashes like that right when you start it, try this:

Code: Select all

sudo rm -r /var/cache/mintinstall/
rm ~/.cache/mintinstall
apt install --reinstall mintinstall
