Hi Chris883, and welcome to the forum.

Your audio card is one of the few that are rather funky in Linux, but fortunately someone has made a fix that will hopefully work for you.

Open a terminal window and paste these in one line at a time:

Code: Select all

apt install git
git clone https://github.com/plbossart/UCM.git
sudo cp -rf ~/UCM/chtrt5645 /usr/share/alsa/ucm
echo "blacklist snd_hdmi_lpe_audio" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist_snd_hdmi_lpe_audio.conf
sudo alsa force-reload
Then restart whatever you're using to hear sound and test to see if it works.

I'm not positive you need to blacklist the HDMI audio, but if you're not using it anyway, it certainly won't hurt.

Good luck.

Ha! I got home from work early, and had some free time before I had to go pick up groceries. I did play outside with the dog for 15-20 minutes before coming here.
