I noticed a few people spotted the presence of BETA024 BETA024 was the latest built of Cassandra. It went Gold last night and became Cassandra Stable. If you've already downloaded BETA024 you don't need to download it again, it is essentially the same iso file as the stable release.
Yes, it's compressed with squashfs to fit on a 700MB CD. It contains approximately 2.6GB of data (that also explains why it's so slow to run from the liveCD).
Kinne: For linuxmint.com it must be your browser or proxy cache. Ladislav (from Distrowatch) is sometimes very busy but it never takes long before distrowatch.com is up to date and we always send him an email after we release a new version of Linux Mint.
I'm in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and am having absolutely no luck in downloading. My downloads either stop completely or slow to a crawl. Any suggestions as to what is a recommended time of the day for downloading? I tried torrent but it wasn't any better than http.

Thanks to Clem and the team for letting Cassandra out of the cage, it looks really nice so far.
There's about 12 seeders now on the torrent, I recommend using bittorrent if you can, and leaving it going as long as you are able. That way everyone can get Cassandra in short order.
