Linux Mint DE "Betsy" fully updated using Mate.
When attempting to use System>Preferences>Hardware>Keyboard, the GUI shows "starting keyboard" then quits with this error logged:
mine kernel: [####.####] traps: mate-keyboard-p[####] trap int3 ip:############ sp:############ error:0
Unable to manually configure using dk-config with an error warning "update-rc.d:start and stop actions are no longer supported; falling back to defaults"
There are other problems with Mate also, including not being able to show the clock despite all efforts to add it to the panel, and losing my default Mate menu (I had to replace it with an applet.)
