Okay I want some help squishing this annoying firefox bug

Post by MadmanRB »

So recently i have been making firefox my default browser and will probably keep it default when chrome drops adblock support.

Still there is this one issue, and its been bugging the heck out of me.

I get cracking/distorted audio when playing media sometimes, it happens when say i am watching youtube and I go off to another web page (say facebook) and when another video begins auto playing I get this effect.

This happens regardless of the distro i am using so I suspect maybe its some sort of issue with pulse.

I use my front audio jack as a sound source as i almost always wear headphones, I pop the speakers on now and then but typically use them.

Its possible this is related to my front panel audio but as far as i am aware there is no issue with my motherboards audio chipset.

Here are my systems specs:

the realtek should be the front panel though its mis labeled as Realtek type: USB driver
Windows seems to make the same general assumption (I dualboot this machine) as that too identifies it as USB even though its a standard jack connector.

I already ruled out the headphones as the issue, and my connectors, and my speakers.
This is a custom built machine but everything is checked out and the issue is not present in windows

Strange, aplay only lists 3 devices while inxi reports 4. Usually, the front ports are part of the built-in audio, which in your case is card 2: Generic [HD-Audio Generic], device 0: ALC892 Analog [ALC892 Analog]

Let's see the output of amixer -c2 now please.
