Maybe I was seeing thing, but I thought you indicated you changed it to resume=UUID=/dev/sda3. That is why I responded back to use resume=/dev/sda3. I did not intend on you removing quiet argument. Sorry if I made it confusing. If you want to see the Mint logo instead of the text output you can put the quiet argument back.
Did using resume=/dev/sda3 help with the boot time?
How long is it taking to boot up?
Please post the output from the following commands:
Code: Select all
systemd-analyze
systemd-analyze blame
Have you seen the "gave up waiting for suspend/resume device" during the boot process or in the /var/log/boot.log file?
Do you have any external storage device connected or sdcards inserted. Sometimes, they can cause a slow boot time.
Please post the output from the following commands:
Hi! @deck_luck, I am so sorry for my delay, I had been very bussy and this mater needs a proper and dedicated reply from me. First , I have to be honest with you, as my update after installation wasn't quite good or "clean" as my internet connection was bad that time, and due to other issues that I caused by myself I decided to make a clean installation once again.! but please , don't get mad, because
as I still have the same issue like the screenshoot I posted in my first post.
So...
I followed your procedures again and here I put all the details of my new partitions UUDI , also changed the grub and now I am pasting all the results for all the commands you gave me.. * At the bottom of this reply I will add how I did to change the grub , from GUI because I don't know , and didn't dare to it by console.
So all in all the problem is the same , and the steps followed are the same (the only thing changed are the new UUID for the same sda partitions)... hoping we are still friends
It is important for you to know that I have applied a grub-pc update ofered by the updater after installation, and at that moment I told the system to apply the new grub.
Answering your last questions,,,, 1- you weren't seing things..you have seen alright!! I had indeed set "resume=UUID=/dev/sda3" but after your reply on Sun Aug 25, 2019 2:40 pm I set it right , and edited my previous posts, the only thing I did different that time was removing the "quite" word (however
this is old news right now since I have installed LMDE again and now I am following step by step in the way you indicate).
2 -you didn't make it confusing
3- using resume=/dev/sda3 now it is 60 seconds or more to boot (not only rebooting but also turning off /on , after the bios logo and the first grub screen, I thinking about replacing that line again. Also the mint logo isn't shown.
now the topic line is like this:
Code: Select all
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet reresume=/dev/sda3"
here are all the commands regarding partitions and procedures , like starting over since my latest re instalation .
Code: Select all

I changed the grub file by opening with left click etc folder selected "open with root permision" then entered default folder and opened the grub file now the topic line is like this:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet reresume=/dev/sda3"
then on console I run "sudo update-grub"
the result is this:
