Hi!
So i recently installed Linux Mint 19.2 Tina x64 on one of my PC that is hooked up to a older 32' Apple Cinema Display. For some reason it wont recognise the built in monitor speakers like in Windows or other distros. In the PulseAudio control panel it just shows "HDMI Audio [Radeon HD 6950] Digital Stereo (HDMI)" and i can hear a little bit of really silent audio coming out. I've tried: plug in the monitor to another display port slot, Kill running Pulse audio daemon, reinstall Pulse Audio, fiddle around with the GPU driver and alsamixer through terminal but nothing is working so far. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Cheers!

Re: Linux Mint DispplayPort audio issues
Your outputs look fine. See if this gets the HDMI audio working:
Delete the files in /home/YourUserName/.config/pulse then run
Good luck.
Delete the files in /home/YourUserName/.config/pulse then run
pulseaudio -k
in the terminal. You may need to restart whatever you're using to play sound.Good luck.
Re: Linux Mint DispplayPort audio issues
So I've tried your solution but guess what the problem was in the end?..... the damn thing needed its USB dock to be connected to the PC!!
I've plugged it in so i can use the webcam and i had the others persons voice blasted at me. Well anyways, still thanks for the help and time you spent trying to resolve my issue.
Cheers!

ROFL! You're not the first, and won't be the last to have that issue!
Glad you got it figured out.
