Newbie. New install of LinuxMint 19.2 on 64bit dual boot environment with Win10.
LM set up with partitions for / (root)[20GB], swap [8GB or 1x ram], /home [461GB = remaining space].
Both LM and Win are working.
Problem: I wasn't seeing the /home directory show up (later discovered it as /home/bill - below).
My goal was to have only the LM operating system in the root directory, and have all other applications, software and data files in the /home directory space.
Problem: I edited fstab to add the /home partition UUID (shows, below, as "/def/sda7" ... but ALSO shows as "/home/bill", encrypted.
Oops. When I added the UUID, I FORGOT that /home was to be encrypted!
Before I do anything else to screw up my system, I need advice on how to proceed. I have not done anything to the system since making this change, except to copy two early timeshift backups from the root directory (/) to /home/timeshift/shapshots as subdirectories thereof.

Partition 1 is /dev/sda1, 273 MB, EFI, FAT, boot for Windows 10
Partition 2 is /dev/sda2, 17 MG, microsoft reserved
Partition 3 is /dev/sda3, 561 GB, NTFS, used for windows software and data
Partition 4 is /dev/sda4, 523 MB, NTFS, not mounted, Windows 10 Recovery
Partition 5 is /dev/sda5, 20 GB, ext4, Linux Root (12 GB free space)
Partition 6 is /dev/sda6, 8 GB, Linux swap
Partition 7 is /dev/sda7, 461 GB, ext4, /home
1) My goal was only to be able to keep my Linux root directory free just for the Linux OS;
2) I wanted to direct all other software, applications and files to /home (largest partition)
3) I was not certain at original installation whether /home should be encrypted or not, so I did encrypt it
4) My (mistake?) was to try to mount the /home partition (did not encrypt it) so it would show - as I said - I'm a newbie, and didn't see it listed as /home/bill.
ADVICE? THANKS !!!
