Passwords

Post by Stob »

When I go to a website and log in, as long as I only "suspend" my laptop, when I return it remembers the password. When I shut down, it doesn't and I have to reenter each password. Is there something that remembers passwords for selected websites?

I don't think I would touch your computer ... Otherwise, every browser I know asks if you want to save the entered password.
Linux Mint 18.3 Sylvia (Mate) 32-bit - Acer D250 Netbook (Intel Atom N270, 2 GB RAM, 120 GB SSD)
Linux Mint 17.3 Rosa (Mate) 64-bit - MacBook Pro 15" (Intel Core2 Duo, 8 GB RAM, 240 GB SSD) - with some separation difficulties...

I wouldn't touch your computer either, but your browser should ask to save the password...unless you turned that off, so check that.

OK, I'll check the browser. I had clicked to save passwords, but they didn't.

Maybe the browser is Vivaldi? This thing has its problems with Linux lately...

I never had an issue in the past, but since loading 19.3 it's there. And it isn't Mints doing. Firefox has "Firefox Lockwise" on version 70 and up. You have to OK any website to save your login and password in private browsing. Type in about:logins

I just installed Mint MATE and Cinnamon 19.3 and brought them up to date. Firefox has my passwords, e.g. here for the Mint Forums, passed on easily. Opera too. The only browser that is currently doing stupid is Vivaldi.

Vivaldi is working fine here. As to the "problem computer", maybe some toilet paper would help.

Paper has never helped against the smell - at least not for me...

I don't think I would want to touch it either...at least until it has been wiped! :)
