[SOLVED] No sound. Audio Port: ASoC: no backend DAIs enabled for Audio Port

Post by ibrag474 »

I managed to install and boot Linux Mint 19.3 64bit on Lenovo ThinkPad 8 tablet, which has 32bit UEFI. Very soon I noticed that there are no sound, checked the sound settings and didnt found any output devices, even dummy output is nit present, just an empty drop down menu.
I already tried various solutions with pavucontrol and alsa, but with no luck.

aplay -l output

Re: No sound output detected, no dummy output.

I solved it by adding the right files from this rep https://github.com/plbossart/UCM and ran this command: alsaucm -c cht-bsw-rt5672 set _verb HiFi set _enadev Speaker. It failed because it expects file with the name of your device, it outputs that name, I renamed files to name it expects and it works. No errors in console, sound works now! :D
