[SOLVED] Desktop background, icon arrangement not retained on reboot

Post by Ernie Pantuso »

On Mint 19.3 Xfce, every time I reboot or shutdown, the desktop background reverts back to the default and my icons are rearranged in a single column. I rearrange them, set the desktop background to one I like, shutdown or reboot, and bam! Everything reverts back. Help?

I solved this by doing

Code: Select all

sudo chown -hR username /home/username
I had tried that before I started this thread but somehow it didn’t take before and now it seems to have worked.
