Failed to load the package list LM20

Post by FabriciusFab »

"This is a serious problem. Try again later. If this problem appears again, please report an error to the developers.
Details:
E:Clearsigned file '/var/lib/apt/lists/archive.canonical.com_ubuntu_dists_focal_InRelease' contains unsigned lines., E:The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened"

That happens when I try to update my software repos via Software Manager, cause it was giving me trouble with the ones I previously had

W:GPG error: http://mirrors.evowise.com/linuxmint/packages ulyana Release: The following signatures were invalid: BADSIG A6616109451BBBF2 Linux Mint Repository Signing Key <root@linuxmint.com>, E:The repository 'http://mirrors.evowise.com/linuxmint/packages ulyana Release' is not signed., W:Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default., W:See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details., W:GPG error: http://es-mirrors.evowise.com/ubuntu focal-backports InRelease: Splitting up /var/lib/apt/lists/partial/es-mirrors.evowise.com_ubuntu_dists_focal-backports_InRelease into data and signature failed, E:The repository 'http://es-mirrors.evowise.com/ubuntu focal-backports InRelease' is no longer signed., W:Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default., W:See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details., W:GPG error: http://ppa.launchpad.net/nicotine-team/stable/ubuntu focal InRelease: Splitting up /var/lib/apt/lists/partial/ppa.launchpad.net_nicotine-team_stable_ubuntu_dists_focal_InRelease into data and signature failed, E:The repository 'http://ppa.launchpad.net/nicotine-team/stable/ubuntu focal InRelease' is no longer signed., W:Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default., W:See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details., W:An error occurred during the signature verification. GPG error: http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal-security InRelease: Splitting up /var/lib/apt/lists/security.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_focal-security_InRelease into data and signature failed

And that happens when I reload to the default repos and try to change them again. Any ideas for solving this? It's been some time having issues with repos on Linux Mint 20.

Thanks

Hi FabriciusFab

Try a different mirror.

If a different mirror yields the same errors, go into Software Sources, Maintenance, and click on Add Missing Keys. I had a similar problem in the past and that fixed it.

Tried what you suggested and it did reload some keys, but I'm left with the initial message

"E:Clearsigned file '/var/lib/apt/lists/security.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_focal-security_InRelease' contains unsigned lines., E:The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened."

Thanks for the suggestion

Try

Menu > Administration > Software Sources > Maintenance > Fix MergeList problems
For custom Nemo actions, useful scripts for the Cinnamon desktop, and Cinnamox themes visit my Github pages.

Try

Menu > Administration > Software Sources > Maintenance > Fix MergeList problems
Funny, I had already done that, but now that you recommended it, it solved the problem. Gonna test for a few days and then mark as solved.

Thank you!
