While being a harsh way to respond, it still echoes the opinion many, if not most, of us share. The frequent appearances of posts, almost always from newbies, complaining about the appearance of this forum is rather tiresome. My first reaction when I saw the title of this thread was on the lines of, "Oh no, not another one!"
Imho, still no reason to be so rude. You aren't somehow required to answer. You could just pass by. Also not a fan of people claiming they speak for us. You have no idea what my opinion on the subject is. I've never been a big fan of the appearance of the forums.
When I give opinions, they are my own. Not necessarily those of any other Linux Mint developer or the Linux Mint project as a whole.

Take a chill pill, man! I never said it was a reason to be rude nor was I condoning being rude. I never claimed to be speaking for you or any other one individual, not to mention I couldn't care less about your opinion. You aren't somehow required to answer. You could just pass by.

My feeling that many, if not most, people here share the opinion that appearances aren't as important as functionality for a forum is based on the numerous posts I've seen over the past year that essentially say just that when someone pops up for the umpteenth time about not liking or wanting to change the appearance of these forums. Face it, it gets old.

Besides, I was responding to Moem.

I should have also mentioned that i use a "dark" theme system wide on my XFCE...That obviously has an effect as well...DAMIEN
That is probably the difference. I'm on Cinnamon and still on 19.3

hey i found an option called my board style
i changed it to prosilver (in user control panel board preferences)

it gives entire mint forum a newer look for your machine

default looks something like this:
Minty-Default.png
and the prosilver looks like this:
Prosilver-Minty.png
difference is not much but , still i will stick to older one the new one might be a burden on eye

The forum actually it is perfect, clean and it work very well. I don't see the plain thing or boring is a forum after all. If you want something like a big signature and big avatars well that is other kind of forum I guess

FF has an extension Dark Reader which toggles selectable colors.
Quite nice used in conjuction using Redshift
Reduces glare
Light travels faster than sound. That's why some people appear smart until you hear what they are saying.

Plain? Boring? Hey, it works, and that's what's important to me. I've always been a utilitarian sort: if it works, I don't really care what it looks like.

after joining the forum i really like this place now
I will say more. Mint itself is a very boring distro. Turn on power and it just works. Nothing to talk about.
THIS ... And it never gets any viruses either.

Who cares what the forum looks like as long as it is legible and functional. After all it does nor exist to entertain. If newcomers are deterred by the absence of ephemeral gaudy nonsense the lack is theirs, not the forum's.

No.

It works (as a medium for imparting information).
It is not designed for 'mobile' so is actually functional and useful (unlike most of the web these days).

KISS.
Laptop overheating? Check link here:itsfoss guide . A move from Cinnamon to XFCE can give a -5 to -10 degrees C change on overheating hardware.
