Setting up Yubikey

I recently got a pair of Yubikeys, and... while trying to follow their guide for setting it up to log in to my Linux system, they completely lost me.
This step just says "add the following line to an appropriate file in /etc/pam.d/", but... doesn't say which file is the appropriate file. I can see about six that it could reasonably be.

Anyone able to help?
