But FYI, on the archlinux BBS, somebody posted on 23rd of December that using 6.1.1-arch1-1 he finally got sound to the speakers on his zbook g9 with Alder Lake-P, after no success on 6.0.2.

Since you posted that, I've also helped someone here with an HP computer who was able to get sound with the 6.1-oem kernel and updated SOF files. The manufacturer will make a difference as to whether or not sound happens. There are a lot of different hardware component factors when producing sound so just because something worked on an HP (or two HPs in this case) does not mean it will work on Samsung.

I don't see anything new on the bug report for your Samsung. I suggest keeping an eye on it with regards to when you might expect to see a solution come through.

It's a bit convoluted, but it should get your speakers mostly working. I got my first gen pro 360 speakers functional following one of the variations up there. Just need to rerun the bash script on every reboot.

I'll look at the fix from the manjaro forum, thanks. It appears very hacky, I have to say .

One good piece of news: Using mainline kernel 6.1.12, the keys for adjusting the display brightness now actually change the brightness. Prior, only the symbol for brightness change was shown on the screen and I relied on xrandr to change brightness.

So, I am keeping fingers crossed regarding the sound issues .

I own book2 pro 360 and I can not work following step by step explanations. Could you explain what variation you made?

For me:

1. I didn't have to update the linux kernel, I have to assume that updating is fine too.

2. download the sof-firmware from source, as I don't have pacman. There are deb files online so installing wasn't that difficult .

3. I think I installed alsa-mixer from apt install (which means it'll also be on software manager)

4. I skipped the 4th step completely.

The rest I basically followed the steps exactly. Note that if you are missing any .conf files, you can just create them yourself. Also with current method, I need to run the bash manually every time I reboot. It works fine when waking up from sleep, not sure why it doesn't work after reboot.

Apologies for replying late, I only see these when I check up on if there is any update for a clean fix.
