Just having a little bit of fun.
The wallpaper is Linux Mint 2.0 Light (Bianca) circa 2007

I went through a Windows retro phase where I made Cinnamon look like various versions of Windows.
And now I am about to embark on a linux mint retro phase to make the lastest LM/Cinnamon versions
look like the older LM versions. Anyway I only got to the wallpaper so far.

They didn't do it through the debian backport.

One can install the 6.0-oem kernel from Canonical by using Synaptic Package Manager or installing the package from the command line as JohnBdigital has indicated.

If you check closely on the screenshot, you'll see -oem at the end of the kernel designation. It's not a mainline kernel.

I would guess maybe using the Conky software?

I use it on my HTPC and laptop with a personalized version of a theme called Minimalis which gives me system specs on my desktop (screenshot from my HTPC running Mint 20.3 MATE):

i'm using an old outdated wallpaper changer wallch from ubuntu 12.04 that used to have live wallpaper feeds, download clocks, live earth and live wallpaper but most of it doesn't work anymore. i managed to save some clocks before their site went down.
