It depends on your definition of spyware for a Windows computer.

Also it depends if you fine with a secret Linux OS running inside modern Intel CPUs on deepest access level Ring -3.

Good One

I really do not trust amazon to buy computers from. The 3rd party sellers seem to be really sketchy. Last time I bought a desktop off amazon I planned on wiping it clean and reinstalling windows for a client. After wiping it clean it never found the SSD drive inside to install to. I fired up a live Mint usb and checked the hard drive => Manufacturer: ????????? Model Number: ??????? all the information was just a bunch of question marks. I think your actually safer on ebay than amazon really. But that is my opinion.

BTW --- I have always said "Worrying about security in Windows is like worrying about a leaky faucet on the Titanic".

I know, but for the sake of this topic and not to present things too desperate, Linux will do :)

I run an old Minis Forum mini with linux (Still on Mint) for my access to the not so smart TV. It does what I want it to do. I have since moved my main PC and My server to mxlinix. I went this route since mx flagship is XFCE and that is what I like. No middleman buntu.

so no win to contend with at all.

For new computers I just pull the drive and replace.
If I have to transfer this pc to another I just reinstall the original
drive--and be done with it.

I've been looking at mini PCs lately but have come to the conclusion that a refurbished Lenovo M73 might be the better option.
