[SOLVED] Warpinator

Post by Peter Linu »

Hiyall,
I want to put Warpinator on Linux Q4OS 32 bit. I have installed Flatpak/Flathub and have copy/pasted the code in the terminal but it won't work.
Does it actually run on 32 bit?

Hi Guys,
I want to add Warpinator to an old laptop running 32bit Q4OS. I can't get either the .deb file or the flatpak to install. I have posted several requests for help both here and on the Q4OS forum without any replies.
Can you guys help me, please?

Yes, the answer is install 32bit Dukto in the Q4OS and 64bit Dukto on the other machine, providing it isn't running Linux Mint 21.

Easier to use than Warpinator and the previous comments have been that Warpinator is easy.

Hiyall,
Please ask Clement L to make Warpinator available to 32bit Q4OS.

Reason: Moved from Suggestions & Feedback to Chat about Linux because the issue is running software on Q4OS.

RollyShed,
The 64bit Mint (daily driver) IS running 21.1 Cinnamon. What do I do?

Please continue your conversation on your existing topic Feature requests » Warpinator on the Q4OS forum which is where such a request is appropriate.

The Warpinator Readme lists the instructions for other Linux-based operating systems.

I don't see where you provided any data that it does not work. You have not yet responded to the questions asked by the person helping you on the Q4OS forum. You should be pursuing help there.

Warpinator works on Q4OS, is there an option other than flatpak?

Post by Peter Linu »

Xenopeek,
Got Warpinator going on Q4OS.
Is it available any other way than flatpak? I want to keep away from flatpak if possible.

I don't know what Q4OS is but if you can install the meson build took on it, you can install Warpinator from source with these commands: https://github.com/linuxmint/warpinator ... -packaging. Run those from the directory where you have extracted the source code archive. A little further down the page you find the build dependencies and the runtime dependencies. How difficult or easy it is to install those depends on Q4OS. If you're using Q4OS with a GTK based desktop environment some of these dependencies are likely already installed. Some you may have to additionally build from source yourself, like the xapp ones (https://github.com/linuxmint/xapp and https://github.com/linuxmint/python3-xapp), if Q4OS doesn't have these — which would make it more time consuming to do this. Hence the invention of flatpak  Package the app and its dependencies once, and it runs on any Linux OS.

For further help you'd better ask on the Q4OS forums. This board is for support with Linux Mint OS, and support questions aren't suitable for the chat forums. Topic locked.
