[Solved] Need help installing NVIDIA GRID drivers for Tesla P40

Post by elzorroazul7 »

I have been running into errors whilst installing NVIDIA vGPU/GRID drivers for a Tesla P40. I have successfully installed the Windows variant but there seems to be some problem holding up this Linux installation and I am having trouble identifying a solution. I was following, for as much as I could that was relevant to Ubuntu/Linux Mint, Craft Computing's Proxmox vGPU Gaming Tutorial.

I believe I have the permissions and execution set properly with:

Code: Select all

chmod +x NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-460.32.04-vgpu-kvm.run
With xserver disabled and running the file with:

Code: Select all

sudo ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-460.32.04-vgpu-kvm.run --dkms
The file unpacks/extracts and begins running but then I am met with an error:

Investigating the log:

From here, I'm not sure where to go. Thanks for taking a look!

Edit:

I have been able to install the GRID drivers by finding the latest release. The version I was using was a bit old and not compatible with the current kernel I have installed. Once I get the GPU pass-through working completely, I will update this post with my sources.
