[SOLVED]Issue after upgrade to 21.1

Post by waldurp1 »

I have just upgraded to 21.1 with a new install. Now I have an issue with my graphics. When I load the game scrabble the border shows but the inside is just a black screen. It was working fine in 20.2.
Help would be appreciated.

Since posting I have tried Pokerstars and crashes when a table start to load. It tells me the video driver is out of date. But the Driver Manager says all is good and Update Manager has not picked up anything.
Thanks I do appreciate the help.

I think you are confusing a message from a software application (which may or may not be using the graphics drivers properly) with what the system graphics do.

Please give more details about these software programs which are telling you they (the software programs) are having problems. Are you running these games using WINE?

Driver Manager is for proprietary drivers. Your system does not use proprietary drivers. It uses drivers which are in the kernel.

Your computer has dual graphics, AMD and Intel. Currently Intel is the primary. I have no idea what the games need or what they are looking at to say the drivers are not up-to-date. Your system is as up-to-date as it can be and all drivers are loaded.

Hi SMG,
Yes both Scrabble and Pokerstars are played in WINE. All was well until I Upgraded from 20.3 to 21.1. I use Picasa photo viewer in wine and that works fine. I have no clue as to why or what to do about it.

Thank You for your time.

Solved. I found a linux scrabble game and downloaded that. It downloaded dependencies, which made the other games which were not working under wine, all working again. Who knows ???????????

I was thinking your issue might be a better fit for a question on the WINE forum because it sounded like an issue related to dependencies.

Please go to your first post in this topic, click the pencil icon, and add [SOLVED] to the beginning of the title so others know you are no longer seeking help on this issue.

Enjoy your games. :)
