[STRANGE UNSOLVED] Monitor Display Glitches / Artifacts

Post by Burkhardt »

Hi all!

Is there a dedicated group to post glitches and bugs on for LMDE version spesifically?!

I was wondering if anyone else might also have encountered some of these in LMDE5
It does not happen very often but has now been carrying on for a few hours...
I have taken video of the glitch happening and also have a screenshot when it happens if someone from DEV ever wanted it...

GRAPHICS CARD
Intel Corporation CometLake-S GT2 [UHD Graphics 630] (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
photo_2023-03-30_09-41-54.jpg
It seems like the desktop becomes momentarily visible through the window as if the video card struggles to render the image correctly.

I have a basic HP EliteOne (2019 - All in One Desktop) that I use for work with LMDE 5

I forgot to add that it is not persistent and stopped when I restarted.

Intel graphic drivers are in the kernel so the bugs would not be posted to LMDE.

Intel Issues are posted on GitLab. I'm not sure what to search to check and see if your issue is there.

Does this only happen with the web browser?

Please open the System Reports app and click the System Information tab on the left. Your computer's information should come up in the right pane. Then click the Copy button in the lower right and paste the results into a reply window here so we can see how Linux Mint views your hardware.

Here's the info...
You posted data from a live session of LMDE5 and not from an installed version. That means your install does not have all the updates. It's possible an update may address the issue.

Hi. Thanks for the help. Not sure what caused or stopped it but I have yet to encounter the glitch again and It seems to be resolved / patched as you suggested with updates that might have solved the isolated issue!

B
