[RESOLVED] Onscreen (virtual) Keyboard activation

Post by Fuzzy »

Enabling the onscreen keyboard is very easy. However, after I use the onscreen keyboard, there's no option to send it to the taskbar, so I simply click the key on the virtual keyboard that looks like a keyboard icon, and the keyboard closes.

How do I recall the keyboard for the next use?

The only way I've found to do it - is to disable and re-enable the onscreen keyboard. I'm sure I'm missing something much more obvious and simple.

Essentially, I'm using the notepad as an artpad, so I don't want/need the keyboard on the screen very often - only when I'm saving files, etc.

Thanks,
Fuzzy

Work-around:

I couldn't get the virtual keyboard offered through PREFERENCES | ACCESSIBILITY to work the way I needed.

I discovered that LMDE5 comes with "onboard" (another on-screen keyboard) pre-installed. It functions as desired. Marking this issue as solved.
