Prevent ear buds from starting/stopping media

Post by rmbjr60 »

I've an annoying problem with my bluetooth ear buds (tozo T10). The touch feature for controlling media is extremely sensitive. Typical annoying scenario: I'm on a zoom meeting, with my music app paused. My wife walks in the room and asks a question ... I GENTLY (apparently not gently enough) remove one earbud so I can hear her. But this gentle touch of the ear bud is enough to engage the media stop/start toggle, causing music app to commence playing (usually quite loudly) music in my ears on top of my active zoom meeting.

I know this is a linux mint forum, but I'm not sure where I might be able to disable this feature ... in linux mint, in my bluetooth controller, in my audio player, etc.

I've checked my bluetooth controller (blueman manager), but it doesn't seem to have any support for disabling media control.

I've checked my audio app (Strawberry) ... couldn't find much in the way of disabling a bluetooth device from starting/stopping playback.

I've checked the Tozo manual .. again, nothing about disabling the feature.

Not sure where else to look. Maybe a different audio player?
