Discord version 0.0.26 doesn't work

Post by magnus9999 »

Hi, is it just me or everytime Discord updates, it stops working on Mint?
Today I've launched it and it says to update to version 0.0.26. Downloaded the package .deb, installed it with dpkg -i, When I launch it, it just shows a blank screen

I removed it, and installed from the software manager, the flatpak one. When I launch it I get this message saying "something went wrong, reaload"
Image

In the software manager there's another one, it says it's Mint System Package, but it keeps updating the screen and I can't install it.

Hier is the output when I launch it at the terminal:

There's yet another one called WebCord, but as soon as I launch it it gives me a weird error message

Image

I don't know if it's a joke or not, but I got cold feet to enter my login and password on it.

So, does anyone also experienced that?
Anyone recommends WebCord?

Here's the post that I've made earlier in reddit:

Post by hoholr »

Solved. I removed it from the terminal and reinstalled from the tar.gz source:

https://discord.com/api/download?platfo ... mat=tar.gz

The main difference was that it started with an update, then it works smoothly. :)

Sorry, didn't understand.
I've already tried to install with the tar.gz and the result is the same, blank page on start up.
Tried also to download de 0.0.25 version, but it forces update, and again same result.
Tried through .deb, same result.

Don't know what else I can't do. I'm using WebCord instead, it sometimes crashes during audio calls. But at least I'm able to keep working with colleagues.

Hello. I have the same problem. Reinstalling it using the .tar.gz did nothing. It still crashes after a while. Sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes after a few hours.
I think it has something to do with how this new version of discord interacts with the nvidia drivers because this doesn't happen when I'm using my Intel iGPU. Tried both nvidia-driver-525 and nvidia-driver-515 with no avail.
I've tried disabling hardware accelleration but it doesn't make a difference.

The shared image errors seems the same. But I'm not getting de last errors about GPU.

Today I tried again and Discord updated itself, but the same blank page appears.
