[SOLVED] Wifi adapter require re-plug everytime I boot

Post by Fgdfgf_515 »

Hello there, as the title suggest, my usb Wifi adapter requires a re-plug every time I boot before I can access to wireless connection.
Note this might look like viewtopic.php?t=274947, but is a different issue as his solution

Code: Select all

sudo modprobe -r rtl8xxxu
sudo modprobe rtl8xxxu
doesn't work in my case.
The system seems to recognise the device, but not network can be detected prior to re-plug.
iwconfig output prior to re-plug:

Code: Select all

enp42s0 no wireless extensions.

First make a snapshot with Timeshift, in case things go south. Then try this driver from Larry Finger:

Driver install as instructed, make no difference: still need re-plug.
New output from Fxxxpmrz prior to re-plug, doesn't seem like there is any difference to me.

You didn't blacklist the r8188eu as instructed in the how-to. Because it's still loaded.

Just to make sure, I entered

Code: Select all

echo "blacklist r8188eu" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/r8188eu.conf
again in terminal and reboot. It doesn't make any difference, and Fxxxpmrz does still show

Code: Select all

driver: r8188eu.
PS: I do get a terminal output saying

Code: Select all

blacklist r8188eu
after I entered the code, though,

Is this possible to create a script that automatically soft eject the adapter and re-connect it every time I enter desktop?

Do you have more than one wifi driver installed that might be causing a conflict? Check:

Code: Select all

I don't know if this still works, but you can try:

Code: Select all

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kelebek333/kablosuz
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt install rtl8188eu-dkms
Reboot
