[Solved] Nemo - how to change the default displayed location?

Post by Kefren »

My most-opened program is Nemo, opened with Super+E.

It defaults to the Home folder. However, I don't use that, and would prefer to make it open by default to my data drive (a separate SSD).

Is there a setting I can change to get it to open with a display of a location of my choosing? I looked through the Preferences and am surprised it isn't just some obvious option in there.

Thanks!

Create a new launcher using the command nemo /path/to/datadrive and either re-assign Super-E to it or use a different keyboard shortcut.

That worked perfectly, thanks!
For anyone new to Cinnamon, it's in System Settings>Hardware>Keyboard settings. Go to the Shortcuts tab>Custom Shortcuts>Add custom shortcut.
I gave it a name (Nemo) and for me the command attached was nemo /mnt/sda2. Then I set it as Super+E. It warned me that would replace another shortcut, I clicked okay, tested, and it worked! From now on Super+E goes to my main data folder. Brilliant.

Thanks again!
