[solved] No Wifi device on linux mint - Dual boot, fast disabled

Post by slvrscoobie »

Hey all, Im trying to get this Acer swift go with i7 EVO laptop dual booted with Linux Mint and Win 11 but the wifi is the last hurdle that seems to be causing me problems.

Ive read and tried all sorts of options.

I turned off Fast Start in windows, and I disabled it in the registry. I tried turning OFF wifi and shutting down. Secure boot is disabled. I turned off the power saving mode in the device on windows, but there is no "turn off this device to save power" on this "Killer wifi driver" and installing Intel driver doesnt change the options. But this Intel wifi card just does not show up - other wifi / NIC work fine but obviously are tedious to use. I reinstalled Mint. Update the Kernel to 15.19 just to see if that fixed it but no. I tried copying the Firmware from Intel to /lib/firmware but that didnt help.

Bluetooth from the same device works fine.

Any ideas on how to get this device to work? Linux seems to see it, but wont access it?

I found this thread, which once I ran the code to patch the driver, it worked!
