Microphone too quiet on Lenovo z13

Post by Xanderhed »

Hello everyone! I installed Linux Mint 21 Cinnamon on my Lenovo z13 laptop, and things are working great! Except for my microphone which is quiet to the point of uselessness. I'm using an usb DAC for headphone audio... kind of a frankenstien setup if I'm honest.

I tried solutions posted on forum topics that I've found, clearing puseaudio config, trying mono configuration, updating the kernel, maxing the volume on alsamixer, but nothing has worked.

The microphone shows up in PulseAudio Volume Control as 'Family 17h (Models 10h-1fh) HD Audio Controller Digital Microphone', and shows small sound spikes on nearby claps, snaps. But while talking, there's barely a blip.

Install info:
- Linux Mint 21 Cinnamon
- Kernel 6.1.0-1013-oem
- AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 6850u
