after trying to install wine Linux won't boot

Tried to install wine windows 10, probably messed up because it wasn't working. laptop started acting weird, couldn't use Internet so i tried restarting but now I'm getting this error

[FAILED] Failed to start light display manager
several times then
"Failed to send firmware data"

Howdy and welcome to the Forum.

The simplest (and perhaps only) solution would be to boot a live session (same thing you used to install) and restore a Timeshift snapshot from before you attempted to install Wine. If you didn't set up Timeshift, you probably have no choice but to reinstall from scratch.

Then, before you try to install Wine again, read this sticky thread in the Beginners Forum.

thanks! had timeshift daily backups set up, able to reinstall from yesterday and it seems to have fixed everything. at the very least this has taught me how valuable that is
