Excellent OS. I installed it on an Acer Nitro 5 (details below).

Almost everything works perfectly. I even noticed that it became more responsive and faster.

However, I had a setback: my L2TP VPN didn't work.

Anybody with the same problem?

Hey jarbelix
Have you set up a home VPN server? You use a provider? Are there in that case somewhere on the web any "instructions" on how to set up the VPN connection?

Hello, I have installed a VPN server in my corporate SonicWall environment and it has always worked on my Linux Mint (ubuntu).

The instructions that always worked are in the link below:

https://www.tecmint.com/setup-l2tp-ipse ... -in-linux/

I decided to test LMDE and I had this disappointment

Thanks for any information that leads to a solution.

All I can say is that tecmint article's instructions are for Ubuntu (and Linux Mint Main Edition) not Debian (and LMDE).
You normally cannot and should not use Ubuntu PPAs in Debian.
Nonetheless installation is similar on Debian.
The packages that are prerequisites are already in the distro repos.
Rest of configuration should be most likely the same on both base systems.

I wouldn't even try to install the PPA on a Debian. I simply sent this link as a reference to see the screens and options.

I did as you said: I installed the native Debian 12 packages and I still couldn't understand the error message I posted above.

Thank you again

I installed pure Debian 12 and followed the procedures:
1) sudo apt install network-manager-l2tp network-manager-l2tp-gnome
2) sudo apt install libreswan
When I try to add the VPN configuration I have the same problem.

In short: it's nothing specifically related to LMDE but rather to Debian 12.

Thank you again

Hmm. Putting the screenshot inline didn't work out too well.
But you get the point.

It's apparently something on your end. I just called up the .jpg in a browser and this is what I see:

HTTP error 429 relates to request frequency? I don't know why you are getting it and I and others are not.
