Problems on MacBook

Post by ThisMac »

Good evening,

I played Mint on a MacBook from 2016 and am very satisfied with the performance.

Unfortunately, there are various things that don't work and I can't solve them alone.

Maybe I'll get help here?

1. after waking up from standby, the computer hangs

2. Bluetooth cannot be opened, disappears immediately

3. no sound

4. Camera doesn't work

5. despite the set "MacBook keyboard" it is not displayed

These would be the most important problems.

I would be very happy about support!

Warm regards

You can try a higher kernel in Update Manager, View, Linux Kernels. Install the highest 6.2 kernel & reboot.

I'm not sure if it will help, but there is another kernel you can try:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install linux-oem-22.04d
Reboot

Unfortunately that didn't help at all.
Can say that my MacBook is unfortunately completely incompatible with Mint Linux?

You don't have the same model as the OP so you can't assume you have the same problem.

Also, thread hijackers are extremely annoying and just clutter up threads. Start your own thread. Post some system details while you're at it,

I think sleeper12 believed you had quite new hardware because the BIOS (UEFI actually) date is 2022. However that isn't always reliable because people update the BIOS, easy mistake to make. Your hardware is actually Intel Skylake series based and that came out in 2015. So the stock 5.15 series kernel is likely the best choice and I'd revert to it. New kernels are mostly really meant to support new hardware.

I don't think so, but I don't have any bright ideas myself.

Unfortunately, there are various things that don't work and I can't solve them alone. In my opinion, there are too many problems for a MacBook. You need to download a good antivirus. It could either be a virus or your Mac is already out of date. I myself read a lot about macos utilities, everything is written there in detail and is as convenient as possible. There I found an antivirus for myself, which now protects my Mac. BUT in any case, if your Mac is 2016, then just buy a new one and don’t worry.
