I am struggling to get my NUC11 (dual monitor) LMDE6 setup to get the monitors to sleep. I have it set in Power Options->Turn off the Screen when inactive For set to 5,10,whatever minutes, it just does not work. The screensaver does activate, but I also tried deactivating the screensaver for fun and the monitors will not sleep. Any ideas?
===
Solved - I figured this out after weeks of troubleshooting. I was running a dual-monitor mini-DVI to DisplayPort and HDMI to the other monitor. I found out it was the HDMI connection keeping it awake, the power off/on works with DisplayPort only. I then figured out the HDMI cable I was using matters. The newer ones "High Speed w/Ethernet" were keeping it awake. An older HDMI cable would allow the monitor to power off, but would not wake up until I touched a button on the monitor! I then tried USB-C to DisplayPort and it works.
In summary - I run a dual-monitor mini-DVI to DisplayPort and USB-C to DisplayPort connection, zero issues with monitors sleeping now.

Re: LMDE 6 Monitors not going to sleep
These types of issues can sometimes be related to graphic drivers. Please open the System Reports app and click the System Information tab on the left. Your computer's information should come up in the right pane. Then click the Copy button in the lower right and paste the results into a reply window here so we can see how LMDE views your hardware.

Re: LMDE 6 Monitors not going to sleep
If this is the correct link, it appears there is a newer BIOS/EUFI available. Under the "what's new", it is mentioning HDMI 2.1 firmware. I see one of your monitors is attached using HDMI so maybe that will help.jgalloway84 wrote: ⤴Thu Dec 07, 2023 2:59 pmMachine:

While you are using the same monitor for both your DP and HDMI ports, I don't know which port has preference in the iGPU with regards to actions. Your equipment is new enough I would expect DPMS for the monitors would be activated.
According to what I found for TUF GAMING VG249Q1A :
Just noting that here is case it becomes relevant.DisplayPort 1.2 x 1
HDMI(v1.4) x 2
Was there something specific in this you wanted me to see? The driver, ports, and chipID are shown in the System Information.

Re: LMDE 6 Monitors not going to sleep
Sorry about the lscpi view, I thought it was different at first glance (please ignore). I did just update the BIOS to v0052 and will let you know.
For clarification, one monitor is connected with mini-displayport and the other is the main hdmi port. I will report back! Thanks!

Re: LMDE 6 Monitors not going to sleep
