Looks good, the Wayland is pretty wonky/buggy, mouse cursor problems, Update Manager problems while on Wayland, refuses to refresh or install updates. I ran it in a VMware Player 17 as well as a Live USB. Just for grins on X11 I bumped the kernel up to 6.5, I was unable to make any kernel changes while on Wayland, or anything concerning the Update Manager.
While on X11, Update Manager worked fine, kernel changes were fine.

Running 21.3 beta for about a week in a Ventoy drive with no issues.
Updated 21.2 MInt to the 21.3 beta today. Fast and easy, no issues.

Same here. Wayland seems shaky with Firefox

I'm using it for my everyday computer. Works great. Don't care for Wayland though. Too much of a hassle to use.

One should use Wayland on Mint right now only with the intention to help Mint devs fix it.

Can you use Wayland on 21.2 now? I thought I read that if you log out, you will have a choice to pick Wayland. I didn't have that choice. At boot I'm auto-login. Just want to see how it reacts on my Mint installs. On my Debian KDE I still use X11 and have tried Wayland. Didn't see much difference.

No, you cannot use wayland on 21.2.
Wayland support started with Cinnamon 6 included in 21.3 currently in beta.

Thanks. The internet was handing out some incorrect info again. ;)

Anybody having a problem launching the two mintstick apps, Formater or Image writer? Sometimes they will not launch on my 21.3 OS. If I reboot they will then run. I've looked at the crash log file and don't see anything. Wayland is not turned on

No issues launching either on my machine.

I recall Clem saying 21.3 will be released around Christmas. With the beta coming out will be see an RC1 first or are we going straight to final?

I don't recall Linux Mint doing RC1 builds in the past. It's usually the beta and then when all sufficient show-stopper bugs issues are fixed the final build is created.

I am downloading it (Mint 21.3-Xfce) now in the 'stable' folder ;)

GPG signature shows, "Signature made Wed 10 Jan 2024 07:20:01 AM EST" which is about 8hrs ago now.

p.s. I am currently on a record uptime (140 days+), so ill see how far I can push this. which means I likely won't be upgrading to 21.3 for months since unless something acts up on the PC that makes me reboot, which I am guessing won't happen at this point, it will probably be a power outage before I lose it which I am guessing probably won't occur until at least Spring, if not Summer area, which is months from now.

I see the 21.3 for Cinnamon, Mate and XFCE at the University of Purdue mirrors under the stable folder too.

I set that as my mirror in mintupdate and it doesn't see it as an available upgrade yet.

I downloaded the iso but want to wait for the upgrade to become available.

Upgrades are not available until after the ISO version is released. Until you see the announcement on the Linux Mint Blog, LM21.3 ISO has not been officially released. Official release includes all documentation and announcements and not just ISOs.

After the upgrade is ready, there will be a separate blog post for it and you will see it come through in Update Manager.
