Linux Mint Cinnamon 21.2 randomly freezing after startup

Post by Phithx »

I've been running LMC 21.2 on a 2011 Macbook Air for just over a month now.
I've been applying all the updates.
Every morning I have to hard-shut-down a few times as the system freezes soon after start-up.
I've read some of the other similar issues on the forum and applied some of the routines, but no success yet.
The strange thing is that is takes a few hard-closes and with me shutting Firefox down as it automatically tries to restore sessions, and then it settles down and I can function.
I've read about and applied some of the Nvidia and other drivers solutions via the terminal and a few of the other fixes but still having the same issue.
Will appreciate some help please.
Thank-you.
P.S.
Forgot to mention, that I'm also having trouble with the headphone speaker jack-socket (I think). Bluetooth earphones work, but plug-in earphones deliver muffled sounds; sometimes with just music and the talking faded out? Might be related?
