Well Done ! I love how clean the desktop is.
A couple of things:
1) what DE do you use ?
2) would you mind posting a screen shot of an example of an app window as well as the menu ?
3)how do you pull up the menu from the desktop

Thank you majpooper!

1. Im using Cinnamon desktop.
2. See below.
3. I selected "Auto Hide Panel" in panel settings. Thus when you scroll down the mouse cursor, the menu/taskbar appear automatically.

Thx much - I really like your approach - I'm going to try the auto panel. I tried a few years ago but it was a little hard to get used to but I really like the way you desktop is so clean maybe I just need to give the auto thing a little more of a chance.

I decided to join in on testing the beta. I'm still running my FrankenMint Mint 21.2 Plasma 6, but what the heck, there's always room for another beta on the main drive:
ImageWallpaper is a vew of my old home from the top of the hill.
Cinnamon 21.3 beta seems to be playing nicely with everything else, although I still don't have the Appearance stuff finished.
Current main OS: MInt 21.3 with KDE Plasma 5.27 (using Compiz as WM) - Kernel: 6.5.0-15 on Lenovo m900 Tiny, i5-6400T (intel HD 530 graphics) 16GB RAM.

While I was playing with Mint 21.3/Cinnamon 6 I did awful things to it.
I know I shouldn't - and it looks Bloody Awful
But I couldn't help myself.
Mint 21.3 Cinnamon 6 with Firefox, and Dolphin mostly Translucent, the Panel Transparent, the Panel Menu isn;t showing because I have the Firefox Menu open, but it is a nice delicate darkish Transparency from a Cinnamon 'Spice'. Nemo and the Info Popup have inherited the Traslucent Title bars as well . .

I'd been talking about making the Title Bar on the Windows translucent - and someone reminded me it's dodgy. So I tried using the dconf-editor thing and crashed Cinnamon completely.
So I reverted to some old fashioned stuff from my Xfce Theming days.
So here's Nemo with not only the Title Bar Translucent but a heap of Minty Green text and stuff that also feeds the Mint Info popup.
'Overkill' would be a kind comment, but at least it shows people who told me 'Ya Can't make Cinnamon Transparent except the Panel stuff' that one way or another you can make part of Firefox almost disappear !!

That looks magnificently horrendous, and I mean that in the nicest way. :D

Love seeing all these customized setups. Meanwhile, I tend to prefer a mostly-stock desktop myself. I have swapped out the default menu for the StarkVII menu, however. I call it: "Windows 95, the way God intended it to be." Loving my Mint setup - have I finally found a reason to rest my distrohopping desires?

Probably not. There are people who love to distro hop and there's nothing wrong with that.

Some of the things I do to Mint are simply to see 'what' can be done. I like translucency, and I know one person on the forum wrote a script for Cinnamon some time ago that can set all the Apps to open with a set level of complete transparency - so I'm not alone. But I like to have certain parts Translucent and others opaque - and that gets tricky in Cinnamon.

I will have to revisit what I was doing with that theme though, because it is only a little finicky (there's a word that shows my age) text editing that charges all the different elephants, and I like the way the Title Bars turned out . .
Except maybe I should keep the rounded corners. They are growing on me.

In the meantime, back in Mint 21.3 KDE (FrankenMint):

Streaming a YouTube Video as Desktop Wallpaper still works (but NOT in Wayland) :

I can see why guys (and some women  ) have photos of women on desktop wallpaper but I never could understand why many guys use photos of women for their avatars. An avatar is supposed to be a representation of themselves (and yes, I am a bird brain).

It's not a woman. It's Superwoman ;)
