[SOLVED]Having problems with installing kvm

Post by BC0Pants »

After running this code

sudo apt-get install qemu-kvm libvirt-daemon-system libvirt-clients bridge-utils virt-manager

it gives me this error

Code: Select all

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Reading state information... Done
Note, selecting 'qemu-system-x86' instead of 'qemu-kvm'
Package bridge-utils is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

E: Package 'bridge-utils' has no installation candidate
E: Unable to locate package virt-manager
and im not sure why. I've did sudo apt-get update and it said it was completed

this is my system info

Hello, BC0Pants.

It might be helpful to know which Linux Mint release precisely you use.
Please, share your Linux Mint System Information with us, as explained in this sticky post: Include your System Information for help with technical problems

Please, also share the output of the terminal command apt-cache policy bridge-utils virt-manager with us.

Also it might be helpful to let us know which instructions you followed when trying to install qemu-kvm.

Thanks,
Karl
