Cinnamon is an entire Desktop Environment. What you listed is the main repository, but not the only one which has Cinnamon files.

Go to the link I gave you and click "View all repositories" at the bottom. Many of those are part of Cinnamon.

I would think it's better to pick a specific area on which to focus your efforts rather than all if it.

There are almost 2,200 software packages installed on the default install of Linux Mint, with some 90,000 software packages available total. How many decades have you blocked in your calendar to read source code?

In the Software Sources program you can enable the source code repositories. Then you can get the source code for a package with command apt source packagename. That will download a packagename_version.tar.xz archive with the source code to the current directory. You can refer to the tutorial for recompiling a package from source code for more instructions: viewtopic.php?t=178574
