Re: Getting Conky weather icons from Bleys to work [SOLVED]
What please is the name that the weather font you gave me must be referred to as in conky? I have tried Weather, and wef, but neither workedBleys wrote: ⤴Thu Feb 08, 2024 5:13 amhttps://www.dafont.com/de/weather.fontLogansfury wrote: ⤴Thu Feb 08, 2024 2:31 am
I note a sunrise font symbol by the 08:23 time and a sunset font symbol next to 17:03 time.
May I have the font for those please?
After installing new Fonts:and restart conky or just rebootCode: Select all
sudo fc-cache
I am currently traveling with my Notbook. The Compass picture will come this afternoon.
Re: Getting Conky weather icons from Bleys to work [SOLVED]
The refresh symbol is available in many fonts. E.g. in the font that your text editor usesLogansfury wrote: ⤴Thu Feb 08, 2024 5:18 am
Got em! Thank you so much! What about the Font Awesome? I downloaded one that corrected the output and showed the flowing arrows in the .lua but its still displaying as a blank rectangle on screen
In my case it is DejaVu Sans Mono.
I suspect that you are using a variant of the Awsome font, which may be written differently. Then Conky does not find this font and probably (I'm not sure...) uses the last font set.

Menu -> Insert -> Special Characters...
I'm a complete layman when it comes to fonts and Unicode. I looked for a website that lists as many Unicode characters as possible and then searched for the right one and a font that contains the character I was looking for.
https://symbl.cc/de/unicode/table/
Entering special characters via Unicode is easy: CTRL+Shift+U - A small underlined u appears, now enter the Unicode directly and press ENTER. For this: 🗘 -> U+1f5d8
U+21ba: ↺ and reverse: U+21bb: ↻

Re: Getting Conky weather icons from Bleys to work [SOLVED]
Good Morning Oh Learned One
I am still recovering from the ER visit the other day and slept in very late. I just woke up to your posts.
Thank you very much for the compass image, I wanted to let you know I got it.
I appreciate the unicode lesson, I was trying just the U button and browser windows were jumping all over when I hit subsequent keys. Cntrl + Shift is a livesaver 🗘 Woot I can see it in my forum post
Unfortunately, it's still not displaying in the actual weather widget. I am going to start a new thread about getting it visible I guess.
Please forgive all the time I monopolized from you getting this widget setup, I know my prior video card/driver setup that refused to display anything was a great frustration to both of us. You are a true forum hero staying the course until an issue is resolved. At this point I have all the art I saw in your work that I hoped to get shared, I have 2 great versions of your weather conky, one for each Linux Box, and both work fine and look beautiful!
I am probably done needing help with this task, except for the last step of putting your compass image up. For this do I emulate the draw command from the arrow? The numeric code at the end represents screen x pos, screen y pos, image height, image width, correct?

Re: Getting Conky weather icons from Bleys to work [SOLVED]
OOOPS!!
I almost completely forgot! I got the weather font you linked, but I cannot figure out how to code it to display in conky. I have listed the font as "weather",
"wea____", "WeatherFont", "weather font" , "Weather Font v1.0" in conky files, but none of these are making the font visible on widgets, what is the solution please?

This has worked for Weather, but not for FontAwesome. Do you have any idea what I can do to get this double arrow displayed by conky?

I'm interested in the part that lists your network status. Can you post it?

Of course Isn't that nifty? I owe this to Koentje. It is one of the three he uses, customized for me to list in two columns instead of one
conky.conf or conkyrc bit:
Code: Select all
conky.text = [[

Code: Select all
