Linux Mint website - information about standard and edge iso

Post by marcelorauber »

Hello!
I have a small suggestion to improve the presentation of the differences between the standard iso and the edge edition.
The information is well presented on this page, accessed from the home page:
https://www.linuxmint.com/download.php
"This image ships with a newer kernel to be able to support the latest hardware chipsets. If you cannot boot the regular editions, we recommend you try the "EDGE" ISO instead."
Okay, great!

But when you go to "Download > All versions" the two options are presented without any additional information and when you go to the Edge Edition download page there's no information on what this version is about either.

I think it's important to present the edge version more adequately throughout the site because I've seen reports (mainly in comments on YouTube) of people trying Linux for the first time from Linux Mint (something very common) and their peripherals not working properly (especially wifi adapters), which has improved a lot since kernel 5.15.

For this reason, I suggest that the presentation of the versions be improved to better understand the differences between the versions.
When I recommend Linux Mint to my friends, I would like them to be able to easily choose the version that will work best on their computer.

The release announcement https://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=4635 and the release notes links on the download page https://www.linuxmint.com/edition.php?id=314 take you to https://linuxmint-user-guide.readthedoc ... /edge.html for information about the edge release.

The download pages are automatically generated from the links. There's no custom text that can be placed on them.
