SANE says support for this device is complete; ie works straightaway http://sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html#Z-CANON

I use X-Sane for scanning; it is available through Synaptic; (is this language that you speak?)

when I turn on X-Sane, with a scanner, it searches and identifies any scanners it can see; you generally select the top of that list; then proceed to the scanning programme

please ask for any detailed help for any bit that is not clear

Bueno te cuento, instale el xsane pero igual me dice..no hay dispositivos disponibles...
Al correr el comando sane-find-scanner, me da esto como respuesta...un detalle el equipo es 1025 pero lo reconoce como lo ves aqui:

root@nl4:/home/supervisor# sane-find-scanner

# sane-find-scanner will now attempt to detect your scanner. If the
# result is different from what you expected, first make sure your
# scanner is powered up and properly connected to your computer.

# No SCSI scanners found. If you expected something different, make sure that
# you have loaded a kernel SCSI driver for your SCSI adapter.
