Can you tell me the difference between LMDE (Debian Mint) and Mint (Ubuntu Mint)?
And what are the differences between Debian and Mint Debian Edition?

Re: LMDE vs MINT - diffrent list
I'm sorry to hear you did not find one of the many topics on this forum which describe the differences when you searched before posting your question. Here is one from earlier this week Basing Mint on Ubuntu vs Debian which is in the Chat about Linux Mint section and here is another recent one Why LMDE 6 is better than standard Mint Cinnamon? in the LMDE Open Topics & Other Discussion forum.szymon1051 wrote: ⤴Fri Feb 09, 2024 4:49 pm Can you tell me the difference between LMDE (Debian Mint) and Mint (Ubuntu Mint)?
Is there something specific you want to know that is not addressed in the existing topics?
Mint Debian Edition includes the Linux Mint tools (Update Manager, Software Center, etc) and the latest Cinnamon desktop.szymon1051 wrote: ⤴Fri Feb 09, 2024 4:49 pm And what are the differences between Debian and Mint Debian Edition?

Re: LMDE vs MINT - list of differences
An overview of the Mint tools: https://linuxmint-developer-guide.readt ... tools.html. And of the X-apps: https://linuxmint-developer-guide.readt ... xapps.html. Those pages are a bit outdated and don't include other apps developed by Linux Mint - Warpinator (send files across devices), Bulky (powerful file renamer), Sticky (notes app) and Hypnotix (IPTV player). Probably I'm forgetting something.
You can browse the contents of the LMDE repository here: http://packages.linuxmint.com/list.php?release=faye. All the software developed by Linux Mint is on our GitHub project: https://github.com/linuxmint

Re: LMDE vs MINT - diffrent list
It is the same Linux Mint tools that come in your Linux Mint Xfce except there is no Driver Manager and no kernel management ability in Update Manager. Additionally, you should not use Ubuntu PPAs on LMDE.
LMDE only comes with the Cinnamon desktop so there are other differences because the desktop environment is different.
