Update Manager "Reboot required" Should Have Button

Post by elibroftw »

Would be nice if the Update Manager had a "Reboot Now" button right in the GUI. I pressed the icon like an idiot before I realized they want me to press the start menu, then the shutdown icon, and then then reboot icon (3 clicks versus 1 click).

Updates are installed in the background, while you're running other programs, unlike Windows. If a restart is needed it's normally because a new kernel has been installed. There's no urgency and the new software or kernel will be activated automatically on the next system restart. If you normally shut down your computer at night the new software will be installed next time it's turned on. If not, then just perform a restart at your convenience.
