Sharing my network with another computer doesn't work with Mint 21.3

I want to share my VPN on my 64bit machine with an older 32bit machine (Ubuntu 18.x), which works fine with Mint 20.3, but doesn't work with 21.3. I have a USB to Ethernet adapter installed on the 64bit machine. Here are some screenshots showing the configurations.
