Finally took the plunge.

Post by SenorFrijole »

Hey! (Almost) brand new Linux user here.
I've dabbled with a few different distros here and there and used Mint on an old laptop, but never really achieved fluency in Penguin.

I decided last night to switch over for good and leave the windows behind.
Already experiencing a few issues, but I think I can get it figured out if I spend the time on it.

It's good to be here :D

Welcome to the Mintverse!

I've been using Mint daily for about four months, have ditched Windows entirely on any home computers that once ran it, although I still have to use Windows at work (Yuck!) and I even find myself using my beloved, though aging, MacBook Pro less and less. I had experimented with Mint a few years ago and found it to be quite satisfactory, but when I came back to it in October, I was amazed to find it had become a mature, stable, and user friendly OS. While I was expecting it to be a good replacement for my Chromebook, with which I was growing increasingly frustrated, it is now my daily go-to, at least for personal work, and I usually don't even think about what operating system I'm on. Every now and then, I think about getting a new Mac, but then I think 'why bother when I've already got what I need'.
